The National Bank of Indianapolis

The American Pianists Awards Premiere Series provides the first live-juried performances of the five finalists for each year’s competition. This past season, audiences at the Indiana History Center’s Basile Theater were treated to solo and concerto performances by Henry Kramer, Steven Lin, Sam Hong, Drew Petersen and Alex Beyer. As custom for the competition, there was no repetition of repertoire, and each finalist found unique ways to express his artistry.

The National Bank of Indianapolis was the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Premiere Series. We thought it fitting to highlight the Bank’s involvement as we release recordings of all five Premiere Series performances on the newly revised media section on our website. To that end, we recently had a chat with Ann Merkel, Senior Vice President and Chief Market Development Officer, and Lindsay Harmon, Vice President, and Private Banker.

Ann begins by explaining why over 25% of the Bank’s development budget is used to support the arts in Indianapolis:

The National Bank of Indianapolis has been a partner of the American Pianists Association for many years. In this clip Ann describes the value of this partnership:

Lindsay shared that the talent of Steven Lin was incredible! Here she explains the benefit of entertaining clients at the other Premiere Series concerts:

Lindsay and Ann end by lauding the lauding the ability and expression of the artists and express gratitude for discovering and promoting young, talented pianists:

We say thank you to Ann, Lindsay and The National Bank of Indianapolis for helping us share this talent with Indianapolis and the world.
