With the spaciousness of a symphony, the drama of an opera, the intimacy of a lullaby, and the intertwining raptures of a love song, 2013 American Pianists Awards winner Sean Chen masters Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 with extraordinary immediacy and power.

Also on the program are Copland’s “Letter from Home” and his masterpiece “Appalachian Spring,” which includes the familiar Shaker tune “Tis a Gift to be Simple.”
