Multiple Grammy Award winner Cécile McLorin Salvant “has established herself as a master interpreter of the vocal jazz tradition, with laser-sharp intonation, perfect diction, and a sonorous voice that recalls, most of all, Sarah Vaughn” (JazzTimes).

In her 2018 release with acclaimed pianist Sullivan Fortner, The Window, “she is wry and unflinching, stating the songs so boldly that their male chauvinism, untenable romanticism or high morality start to form a genre of dark humor” (The New York Times). She is also “an artist with so fresh a point of view that her singing amounts to a kind of re-writing” (The Nation).
