Michelle Cann performs May 15 at Indiana Landmark. Her program weaves works by Black female composers Margaret Bonds and Florence Price with pieces by Romantic composers Brahms and Chopin. A champion of the music of Florence Price, Cann made her orchestral debut at age fourteen and has since performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Cleveland Orchestra. She will perform Price’s “Fantasie Nègre No. 1 in E minor” as well as “Troubled Water” by Bonds. Get tickets!
